LPPA Advisers

LPPA Advisers must have relevant previous experience at a senior level, and then undertake a one-and-a-half day initial training course followed by shadowing both an Initial Audit and an Interim Assessment.

The work of LPPA Advisers is regularly monitored through feedback from the schools they work in, and through the quality assurance of their reports. Both processes regularly emphasise the high quality of the Advisers’ work, and their own feedback and evaluative comments contribute greatly to the overall development and improvement of the LPPA Programme and processes.

There are over 20 LPPA Advisers who work at a national level, and almost 55 more have been trained to work in the delivery of around 18 local LPPA programmes, usually delivered in partnership between the local authority and the LPPA Team. Schools and settings benefit greatly from the additional local support provided by their Advisers, and the opportunities to share good practice. Local LPPA Advisers benefit from shared working with colleagues, and the opportunity for professional development that LPPA involvement offers.

Some LPPA Advisers receive additional training and also work as:

LPPA Trainers: supporting schools and settings through the Trainer-led approach.

LPPA Verifiers: undertaking Final Verifications at the end of the Award process.

LPPA Re-assessors: re-assessing schools and settings that wish to renew their Award after three years.

“The Interim Assessment process was extremely supportive and informative. I see a clear way forward and what the next steps need to be. High Quality service.”

“An Analysis by experienced LPPA staff was constructive and developmental and was instrumental in moving us forward leading to huge benefits for our school. We will continue to build on what we have achieved and will take on board suggestions from Maureen and Margaret.”

“The adviser explained simply and effectively, different aspects of LPPA and signposted me to some extremely useful information. She was very approachable and I felt comfortable to ask questions and share issues.”
