Prospects is a large, national company, focusing solely on education, employment and training activities, with a turnover of more than £61m in 2009 – 2010, almost 1400 staff based in 70+ premises and a team of associate consultants. Our contracts, mainly in the public sector, range from £1,000+ to several million pounds in annual value.
Prospects is the largest national provider of Connexions service to young people, in more than 20 local authority areas. We are one of the largest Next Step contractors providing information, advice and guidance (IAG) for adults, as Prime Contractor in Greater London from 1stAugust 2010, a partner in the Prime Contracting organisation in Yorkshire and the Humber, and a delivery partner in the Black Country, Hereford, Worcester and the West of England. We hold the OLASS contract to deliver Careers IAG in all London prisons.
We won the larger of the two Ofsted Early Years Inspection Services contracts, covering the Midlands and North, going live on 1st September 2010. We train guidance, employment and education professionals in our NVQ Centre. Our many IAG, employment and education projects target specific groups e.g. NEET, LDD young people.
Other business activities include: regeneration initiatives including advocacy, family learning; project and service management including delivery of more than thirty ESF programmes valued at over £10m in 2004 – 2008; events management including jobs, skills and HE fairs; employer facing services (training, workforce development, vacancy handling, recruitment); educational consultancy; careers information and materials; web design, education and training products in a wide range of media; research and evaluation; quality improvement, surveys; placing young people and adults into jobs, training and learning; pre-employment training; psychometric testing; e-enabled products such as Fast Tomato and the Real Game series.
