In September 2009, Ofsted made several changes to its framework for schools inspections. Of relevance to the LPPA was the section “How effective are leadership and management?” and in particular the sub-heading “The effectiveness of the school’s engagement with parents and carers”.
In August 2010, the LPPA conducted research into all LPPA schools that had undergone a full inspection under the new framework. The results are as follows:
- 40 LPPA schools were inspected under the new framework between September 2009 and August 2010
- 90% of the schools inspected received either an “Outstanding” or “Good” judgment under the sub-heading “The effectiveness of the school’s engagement with parents and carers”.
- The remaining 10% of schools received a “Satisfactory” judgment.
- None of the schools received an “Inadequate” judgment.
- Of the 40 schools inspected, 30% received an “Outstanding” or “Good” judgment overall.
