Many schools and settings achieve the LPPA working individually.
Local groups/clusters can work together through the Adviser-led and Trainer-led routes and each school still achieves the award in its own right. They can be supported by LPPA National Advisers through a Local Group Contract, or by their own trained Local LPPA Advisers through a Local Group License.
Working in groups reduces the cost of the LPPA, and also supports networking, sharing good practice and local celebration of achievement.
To date, 22 local authorities, 14 other local organisations and 3 groups of schools have worked in partnership with the LPPA Team to deliver Local Group Contracts and Licenses.
Testimonies from Worcestershire License schools
“As a local authority we have enjoyed a strong partnership with LPPA while 39 of our schools have worked to achieve the Award. It has been an extremely positive experience, with our journey being supported by our own Key Contact. We have been able to strengthen our staffs’ personal development, offer a national framework award to schools and use this to support their progress towards embedding parent partnership. Worcestershire has also used the LPPA as a measure of success linked to many other national and local initiatives. Feedback from our schools has been exceptional and we feel that working on the LPPA has strengthened our relationships with our local schools, children centres and other partners.”
- Rachel Adams, Parent Engagement Adviser, Children’s Services, Worcestershire LA
“The Lancashire LA has been working with Prospects to deliver the Leading Parent Partnership Award in children’s centres, short stay centres and the full range of Lancashire schools since September 2006. The LPPA is a very valuable school improvement tool that has promoted a creative and sustainable approach to parental engagement. The LPPA framework is clear and concise, and supports schools in meeting Ofsted’s requirements for parental engagement. The LPPA licensing model has enabled local Lancashire LPPA Advisers to work in partnership with the Prospects’ LPPA Team to deliver high quality support to schools and educational settings throughout the programme.”
