The LPPA Timing and Process

Timing

Most schools and settings achieve the Award in 9 – 15 months.

All the parent partnership work that is already in place before registering for the LPPA contributes towards achieving the Award.

Process

The LPPA process varies slightly according to the route chosen, but generally consists of 5 main elements:

  1. Initial Self-Evaluation
All three routes involve the school or setting undertaking an Initial Self-Evaluation – a brief and focussed look at their current parent partnership work against each of the LPPA Objectives.
  2. Action Planning
Development of an LPPA Action Plan that will take the school or setting from its starting point to the achievement of each of the Objectives and KPIs. How the Action Plan is developed varies according to the route chosen.
  3. LPPA Portfolio
Putting together a concise portfolio of evidence to demonstrate that each of the Objectives and KPIs has been achieved.
  4. Interim Assessment
A mid-way progress check with support for further development by an LPPA Adviser or Trainer - optional for the School-led approach.
  5. Final Verification
A visit by an LPPA Verifier to determine whether the school or setting has reached the standard required to achieve the Award.

“The process has been extremely useful to provide a focus for our work with parent partnership. The support from LPPA colleagues has been excellent.”
