Schools and settings can choose one of 3 routes to achieving the Award, according to their needs:
Route 1: The Adviser-led approach
For schools and settings that would appreciate high-quality one-to-one support and guidance from an LPPA Adviser throughout the process, including their LPPA Action Plan being largely written by their LPPA Adviser.
Route 2: The Trainer-led approach
For schools and settings that would appreciate high-quality one-to-one support and guidance from an LPPA Trainer throughout the process, but have the capacity to undertake their own detailed audit of existing parent partnership work and produce their own LPPA Action Plan.
Route 3: The School-led approach
For schools and settings that would prefer to use the LPPA Toolkit to guide them through the LPPA process, and have the management and organisational capacity to achieve the Award without the support of an LPPA Adviser or Trainer.
“Participating in the LPPA is at the heart of our vision of being a true community school. It has helped us to create a real sense of partnership, shared love of learning and understanding of the needs of our community. We now aim to build on from this to continue to developing the most positive relationships with all our families in the interests of the children’s learning and development.”
- Evelyn Davies, Head Teacher, Coldfall Primary School, London, Trainer-led approach, July 2010.
